INTERNATIONAL
Y
ou asked for it and RAGFL
delivered. From those try-
ing to break into the inter-
national field to the long-time global
professionals, the International Real
Estate Council (IREC)'s Internation-
al Expo, "Success Strategies for Navi-
gating the International Market",
hit a home run in mid October. The
expo taught participants what it takes
to be successful and make money in
the international real estate market.
Participants heard from experts in
the field, networked and exchanged
ideas at the valuable day-long event.
Key features included presentations
on foreign investments for immigra-
tion purposes, tips & tools of the
international trade, Immobel train-
ing complimentary breakfast and
lunch and more. The inaugural 2008
program, held in October, was so
anticipated amongst the international
community that is sold out within 7
days. Based on the positive feedback
and overwhelming success, the IREC
plans to offer a similar event in 2009.
Special thanks goes out to Erick
Cantele of Countrywide Loans, Tod
Weston of Coastal Title Inc., Don
Gonzalez, Tim Haines, Aida Turbow
and Jorge Cantero.

Foreclosure Rescue Fraud Prevention Act of 2008
Effective October 1st, this
statute requires that a fore-
closure rescue consultanta
person who tries to arrange
a new payment plan with
lender or other alternative
to foreclosureprovide a
written agreement to the
consumer and obtain the
consumer's signature before
beginning any services. Those services include any
service related to "Stopping, avoiding, or delaying
foreclosure proceedings concerning residential real
property" or "Curing or
otherwise addressing a de-
fault or failure to timely pay
with respect to a residential
mortgage loan obligation."
The legislation further re-
quires the rescue consultant
to include in the written
agreement a specific notice
of the homeowners' right
to cancel, including the procedure for cancelling,
and a disclosure that the consumer should contact
his or her lender first before signing.
