, now's the
time to be hitting the
phones, community
hot spots and social
networking sites to reconnect with
former clients as well as meet poten-
tial ones. With the economy and real
estate markets needing an extra jolt,
President Barack Obama recently
signed the bill that includes the ex-
tension and expansion of the home-
buyer tax credit. The extension is part
of a $24 billion economic stimulus
bill. Highlights of the bill include:
Extending the $8,000 tax credit
through April 2009 for home-
buyers who are purchasing their
first homes.
Providing a $6,500 tax credit
for repeat purchasers (those
who have used previous home
as principal residence for 5 of 8
previous years).
Setting income limits at
$125,000/$225,000 for single/
joint filers.
Making the credit available until
April 30, 2010, with a 60 day
extension if binding contract is in
place by April 30th.
Ensuring purchase price of home
to not exceed $800,000.
